KOREAN BEEF FRIED RICE RECIPE

Savory Korean-Style Beef Fried Rice with Vegetables

Korean Beef Fried Rice is a simple, colorful, and delicious one-pan meal made with beef, vegetables, rice, and savory Korean-style seasonings.

It is easy to prepare, full of flavor, and perfect for a quick homemade dinner. With tender beef, finely chopped vegetables, and a sunny-side-up egg on top, this fried rice is satisfying, comforting, and great for both adults and kids.

INGREDIENTS

MAIN INGREDIENTS

200g beef, about 7 oz

1/4 onion

1 king oyster mushroom

1/5 carrot

1/5 zucchini

2 cups cooked rice

SEASONING

1 tbsp oyster sauce

2 tbsp store-bought Korean beef galbi marinade

1 tsp soy sauce

1 tbsp cooking wine, or mirin

A little black pepper

A little salt

1 tbsp sesame oil, for finishing

HOW TO MAKE KOREAN BEEF FRIED RICE

STEP 1: CHOP THE VEGETABLES

Finely chop all vegetables except the zucchini.

Dice the onion, king oyster mushroom, and carrot into small pieces.

Cut the zucchini separately and set it aside.

STEP 2: SEASON THE BEEF

Add the beef and all seasonings to the chopped vegetables.

Mix and massage everything well so the flavors can soak into the beef and vegetables.

This step helps the fried rice become more flavorful.

STEP 3: STIR-FRY THE MIXTURE

Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.

Add the beef and vegetable mixture to the pan.

Stir-fry until the beef begins to cook and the vegetables become fragrant.

STEP 4: ADD THE ZUCCHINI

When the beef is partially cooked, add the zucchini.

Adding zucchini later helps keep its color and texture fresh.

STEP 5: STIR-FRY ON HIGH HEAT

Stir-fry everything on high heat for a short time.

This helps bring out a rich, savory flavor and keeps the ingredients from becoming watery.

STEP 6: ADD THE COOKED RICE

Add the cooked rice to the pan.

Stir-fry well until the rice is evenly mixed with the beef, vegetables, and sauce.

Use day-old rice if possible for the best fried rice texture.

STEP 7: FINISH WITH SESAME OIL

Add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil at the end.

Mix well and turn off the heat.

The sesame oil adds a delicious nutty aroma and makes the fried rice taste even better.

STEP 8: PLATE AND SERVE

Serve the fried rice on a plate.

Top it with a sunny-side-up egg for extra flavor and a beautiful presentation.

Enjoy it warm as a quick dinner, lunch box meal, or simple Korean-style rice dish.

TIPS

Use day-old rice for the best texture.

Freshly cooked rice can be too soft and sticky for fried rice.

Feel free to add green onions or kimchi for extra flavor.

This dish is also great for lunch boxes.

RECIPE AT A GLANCE

Chop the vegetables finely, except the zucchini.

Add beef and seasonings, then mix well.

Stir-fry the beef and vegetables in a pan.

Add the zucchini.

Stir-fry on high heat.

Add cooked rice and stir-fry well.

Finish with sesame oil and serve with a fried egg.

PERFECT WITH

Sunny-side-up egg

Kimchi

Pickled radish
