Prologue
Long ago, deep within the mountains of
Korea, mysterious beings lived far from human eyes.
Among them, none were feared more than the
fox.
Not an ordinary fox.
A fox that lived for centuries.
Then centuries more.
And after a thousand years, it gained nine
tails.
From that moment, it was no longer a beast.
It became something far more powerful.
A Kumiho.
Chapter 1
A Thousand Years of Waiting
A young fox was born.
She was different from the others.
She loved moonlight more than hunting.
She was fascinated by human songs more than
blood.
Time passed.
Kingdoms rose and fell.
Wars came and went.
Villages disappeared.
Yet the fox never died.
She survived alone.
Then one night, after a thousand years had
passed, a crimson moon rose above the mountains.
A brilliant light burst from her body.
Nine tails spread toward the heavens.
The fox had become a Kumiho.
Chapter 2
The Monster Who Wanted to Be Human
The Kumiho watched humans from afar.
They laughed.
They loved.
They built families.
They grew old together.
She envied them.
Though she had lived for a thousand years,
she was alone.
According to ancient legends, a Kumiho
could become fully human.
But there was a condition.
She had to live as a human for many years.
She had to abandon hatred.
Resist temptation.
And overcome the instincts of the beast.
The Kumiho made her decision.
"I will become human."
Chapter 3
The Beautiful Stranger
The Kumiho transformed herself into a
beautiful young woman.
She descended from the mountains and
entered a small village.
The villagers were astonished.
Never before had they seen such beauty.
They welcomed her warmly.
But not everyone trusted her.
Some of the village elders felt uneasy.
In her eyes, they saw something that did
not belong to this world.
Chapter 4
The Disappearances
Soon, strange events began to occur.
People started disappearing at night.
Hunters.
Travelers.
Young men returning home after drinking.
They entered the forest and never returned.
Fear spread throughout the village.
No one could find the culprit.
The truth was that the Kumiho herself was
suffering.
The beast within her still hungered.
She wanted to become human.
Yet she could not completely silence her
ancient instincts.
Chapter 5
The Young Scholar
In that village lived a young scholar named
Yunho.
He was intelligent, observant, and
respected by all.
Yunho noticed something unusual.
Every strange event had begun shortly after
the mysterious woman arrived.
At first, he dismissed it as coincidence.
But his suspicions continued to grow.
Determined to uncover the truth, he began
his investigation.
