Korea Travel Course 1 — 7 Days and 6 Nights
Route: Incheon Airport → Seoul → Gyeongju → Busan → Seoul → Incheon Airport
Overnight stays: Seoul 4 nights, Gyeongju 1 night, Busan 1 night
The AREX Express Train is the most convenient connection from Incheon International Airport to Seoul Station. The express service takes approximately 40–50 minutes, while the all-stop service generally takes just under one hour.
Day 1 — Arrival, Seoul Station, Namdaemun and Myeongdong
Arrive at Incheon Airport → complete immigration and baggage claim → purchase or recharge a transportation card → take AREX to Seoul Station → check in.
Visit Sungnyemun Gate and Namdaemun Market, followed by Myeongdong, Myeongdong Cathedral and, depending on your arrival time, N Seoul Tower.
Overnight: Seoul Station area
Day 2 — Historic and Traditional Seoul
Visit Gyeongbokgung Palace and the National Folk Museum in the morning.
Continue to Bukchon Hanok Village, Insadong, Jogyesa Temple and Ikseon-dong. Finish the day at Gwangjang Market.
Gyeongbokgung Palace is normally closed on Tuesdays, and its closing time varies by season. Exchange Day 2 and Day 3 when Day 2 falls on a Tuesday.
Overnight: Seoul Station area
Day 3 — Modern Seoul, the Han River and Hongdae
Choose either the War Memorial of Korea or the National Museum of Korea.
After lunch, visit Yeouido Hangang Park and The Hyundai Seoul. In the evening, explore Hongdae, Yeonnam-dong and Gyeongui Line Forest Park.
Overnight: Seoul Station area
Day 4 — Seoul to Gyeongju
Take a morning KTX train from Seoul Station to Gyeongju Station. The journey is approximately two hours.
Leave your luggage near Hwangnidan Street and visit Bulguksa Temple. Continue to Daereungwon Ancient Tomb Complex, Cheonmachong Tomb, Hwangnidan Street and Cheomseongdae Observatory.
In the evening, walk around Woljeonggyo Bridge and visit Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond for the night scenery. Many of central Gyeongju’s historic attractions are grouped within a walkable area.
Overnight: Hwangnidan Street or Daereungwon area
Day 5 — Gyeongju to Busan
Travel to Busan by KTX or intercity bus and leave your luggage at the hotel.
Visit Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, Songjeong or Cheongsapo, Haeundae Blueline Park and Haeundae Beach. End the day at Gwangalli Beach with a night view of Gwangan Bridge. This eastern Busan route is also featured in official Visit Busan itineraries.
Overnight: Busan Station or Choryang area
Day 6 — Western Busan and Return to Seoul
Check out and store your luggage at the hotel.
Visit Gamcheon Culture Village, Jagalchi Market, BIFF Square and Gukje Market. Return to Busan Station and take an evening KTX to Seoul. The Seoul–Busan KTX journey generally takes approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, depending on the service.
Overnight: Seoul Station area
Day 7 — Final Seoul Activities and Departure
For an afternoon or evening flight, walk along Seoullo 7017, shop near Seoul Station or Namdaemun Market, have lunch and return to the hotel for your luggage.
Take AREX from Seoul Station to Incheon Airport. Plan to leave Seoul Station approximately 4½ hours before an international flight to allow time for the train journey, airport check-in and security.
For a very early flight, staying near Incheon Airport on the final night may be more practical.
